  1. I need to manually add database credentials to applications/config/database.php and create a new database in MySQL. Then in application/config/config.php temporarily change the location of sessions to application/cache from tblsession. (make sure cache is writeable).

Go to the site name you added in config.php => i.e http://mysite.local and http://mysite.local/make/install should come up automatically and you can start the install.

Couple things – 1) make sure mod_rewrite is turned on and make sure your vhost can read .htaccess files properly. 2) Once installed change session back to tblsession in config.php and restart apache2.
    I hope this helps.

    Also waiting for Perfex 1.3.0….

    Cheers,
    Dave

  2. 1.2.2 works great, but there is already 1.4.0 version. It would be awesome if you can get it.

Yes install map does not exist, it is virtualy assigned to index.php from MySQL. You need to manually
add it to your database. File is called database.sql and you can find it in \application\controllers\install\

Please read Dave Cook’s post above.

I managed to install it with manually adding database in phpmyadmin, made proper configuration in config.php and that was it. You need mod_rewrite enabled. Also you can do some changes in .htaccess, but it should be OK as it is.

Dave Cook also change tblsession, I managed to do it without that change, so you can try both version.

    Cheers,
    Aljosa

      • .htaccess file is already properly written so you don’t need to change it, but if you want you can do some thing like redirect or limit access or smth.

As for installation process, first upload files to your server (domain, subdomain, subfolder, or where ever you want to put it), then create new MySQL database and remember username, password, database name (host should be “localhost”, since you probably have MySQL installed on the same server, if not, tell me and I will try to help you out).

after database creation, login to mysql administration tool like phpmyadmin, select newly created database on the left and click on Import in the top menu. Then select file called “database.sql” which is located in \apllication\controllers\install\ folder.

after import open the file “config.php” which is \application\config\ and edit entries for MySQL connection, you need to provide username, password, database name, under host you just put localhost, save the file and access it from web browser, you should get setup and just follow instructions there.

If you put perfex in folder like perfex, then open http://www.yourdomain.com/perfex in your browser and you will be redirected to setup, BUT you need to make mysql DB.

hope this is not to confusing:D

  3. Hi Aljosa:

Your way is much easier, I didn’t notice the database.sql file. Thanks for sharing. Hope to see 1.4.0 soon!

    Cheers,
    Dave
